The USA Water Polo National Junior Olympic Championships (JO’s) is the largest water polo tournament in the nation. It is the greatest tournament our sport has to offer! Teams come to California and Texas from all over our country to compete in a 4-day tournament each July.
Session 1 and Session 2 are held in California every year. The location alternates between Northern California and Southern California each year. Participation in the JO qualifying tournament in June is a requirement for all teams and athletes to be considered for Session 1 or 2.
Session 3 will be held in the Dallas, Texas area from July 27 through July 30. There is no qualification requirement to attend Session 3.
Qualifier Tournaments – Athletes and their teams must participate in the Qualifier tournament in June if they want to go to Session 1 or 2 in California. Qualifiers are not necessary if athletes and teams want to go to Session 3 in Texas.
Participation in JO’s is not mandatory, but it is highly encouraged. Our athletes have been working hard and this is the ultimate experience for them to compete against teams from all over the country.
FEES & COSTS
In addition to our Storm team registration fee, there are additional fees required to participate in Junior Olympics. These fees cover the costs for coaches' salaries, coaches' travel/transportation, and the tournament entry fee for the 2023 National Junior Olympic event.
As we've done in the past, we will spread the costs out over several payments once we've determined the venues we'll be participating at. Those payment links will be provided here, as well as in email.
Transportation, accommodation, meals, and admission fees to the Junior Olympic Tournament are the responsibility of each family. Houston Storm will secure a block of rooms at a hotel in the locations we decide to go to.
